No tour of Amsterdam could leave out the Rijksmuseum. It was thrilling to stand so close to a Rembrandt, a Van Gogh, a Vermeer! I feel so honored to have the opportunity to see these great master works. I've done a little painting of my own, and I know how difficult it can be to portray three dimensional objects onto a two dimensional surface. The ability to show depth and perspective is a true art, and to be able to do it with the skill of these magnificent artists is other-worldly. I'm so glad that some of their work has been preserved and is being protected and put on display to inspire others..myself included, if not to do, then at least to enjoy their craft.
Here is my slide-show from the Rijksmuseum.
