Best burger ever!

Our drive from Lisbon to Pamplona was a long one..about 11 hours including stops. So, for lunch the girls decided they wanted to find a McDonalds. You can find McDonalds restaurants in Spain, but they are not always located at the easy-on, easy-off exits from the highway. We were just outside of the town of Salamanca, Spain. I wasn't too excited about McDonalds, but you know..happy wife, happy life, so I put McDonalds in our Google maps program and off we went, following the instructions she gave. We winded our way through about 20 minutes of narrow, busy streets, and finally came to a turn she told us to make that we couldn't make as it was in a pedestrian only zone. Luckily, after circling the block once, we were able to find a parking space on a small square, and we set off on foot into the pedestrian zone. As we crossed the street and climbed a few steps, we entered this magnificent square.

We couldn't find the McDonalds, and then we saw on Google that it said it wasn't open anyway! Ever heard of a McDonalds that was closed at noon? Anyway, we were all hungry by then, so we decided to sit in one of the outdoor restaurants lining the square. It was a little chilly, so I decided to hike back to the car and retrieve our jackets. By the time, I returned, I found the girls had been given blankets by the waiter..so thoughtful! We decided to or the "Spanish burger", which you see pictured here. The senior member of the group was heard to say that it was the best burger she had ever eaten..and she has eaten a lot of burgers.

Way to go Dad!
