Another look at La Sagrada Familia

When I returned to Barcelona for the Formula 1 race, I had some time on my hands and made another little trip around La Sagrada Familia. The facade of this structure is so minutely detailed and so huge, that it could take an entire day with a good set of binoculars and a knowledgable local guide to get the full impact and meaning from all of the carvings and statues on it. I didn't have the time for such an in depth study, but was so impressed by Gaudi's vision for this that I deeply wanted to. The streets along the structure are literally thronged with tourists and tour groups. The line to buy tickets was 100 meters long, and people flock through here all day long. At $12 euros per ticket, it should not have taken this long for the structure to have been completed! If they could charge for the tourists who never go in..like me..but who wander around it with their mouths agape, they could afford to take care of the refugee crisis.

So, here is another long look around the exterior with some fairly close ups. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I'm leaving them large on purpose.

Look at the full size tree with doves on this shot!
