Sand Castles

We had an absolutely beautiful day today--the kind we have been waiting for. So, we decided to spend the afternoon at the beach. It was sunny, the sky was blue, and temperature was about 75 degrees. The water is clear, dark blue in the distance, and aquamarine close to shore. The sailboats had big billowing white sails. The power boats motored far enough off shore that you couldn't hear their motors, but you could see the spray from their wake. The beach had a sprinkle of sunbathers, but was not crowded. The breeze was just enough to keep from getting too hot in the direct sunlight. Perfecto!
The beach we went to today is about 12 miles north of us in a very upscale resort town called Behesa de Campoamor. Here are a couple of pictures
The girls spent a couple of hours building sand castles--pictured above. Not sure what the last one is! Then . . .
. . . lunch at a lovely little beachside grill. As you can see, the location was perfect. John and I shared a swordfish steak and a crab salad. Kat had a hamburguesa con queso. Ellie had her usual ham and cheese sandwich, topped off with a very unusual ice cream confection (yes, it's all ice cream!).
We saw our first nude sun bather at this beach. No pictures--sorry!
