The Barcelona fresh market

We found a fresh market not far from our apartment in Barcelona, which was pretty fascinating. This is a more or less permanent market place, lined in two long rows with stalls on either side of each row. There are many vendors that offer competing items, so you have to watch the prices on the items you want. Each vendor seems to specialize, some offering vegetables, some fish, some meat, some eggs, etc. Things are very different here:

The selection of fresh fish was awesome, as you would expect in a coastal town. One of the bowls in front of Chris had escargot, and they were moving! Notice the chicken in the case below still has it's head on. That's rabbit next to the chicken...most butchers offer rabbit. The fresh vegetables were excellent. I'll add some more pictures the next time..I'm taking my good camera.
